Quickstart
From nothing to a feed of scored, labelled mentions. About five minutes, most of which BrandSonar spends reading your website.
- 1
Create an account
Sign up with Google, Apple, or Microsoft. There is no password to choose, since BrandSonar signs you in through whichever of those you pick, and you can connect the others later from Account → Login methods.
- 2
Name your organisation and pick a plan
An organisation is the container for your brand, your team, and your subscription. Give it a name, usually your company's, then choose Plus or Pro, monthly or yearly, and continue to checkout.
Every organisation starts with a 14-day free trial. A card is required to start it, you are not charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel any time before then. See Plans & billing for what each plan includes.
- 3
Point BrandSonar at your website
Back in the app, enter your domain. BrandSonar reads the site and uses what it finds to fill in the rest of the setup, so you are reviewing suggestions rather than typing a configuration from scratch.
- 4
Review keywords and profiles
The wizard proposes the terms it will search for, such as your brand name, common variants, and product names, plus any social profiles it found. Remove anything that does not belong and add whatever it missed.
Profiles matter more than they look: telling BrandSonar which accounts are yours is how it tells your own posts apart from other people talking about you.
- 5
Review labels
Labels are the categories the AI sorts incoming mentions into. Each one carries a description that tells the model when to apply it, and the wizard writes both from your site, so a pharmaceutical company gets Regulatory and Research, while a developer tool gets something else entirely.
Edit the descriptions if they are close but not quite right. They are the instruction the AI follows, so a sharper sentence here is the highest-leverage edit in the whole wizard.
- 6
Pick competitors, or skip
The last step suggests companies you compete with. Each one you select becomes its own monitor with its own keywords and labels, so you can compare volume and sentiment against your own brand. You can skip this and add competitors later.
- 7
Watch the first mentions land
Finishing the wizard starts the first scan immediately. Mentions begin appearing within a few minutes, each one already scored for relevance, classified for sentiment, and labelled.
The first scan reaches back over recent history, so the feed fills up faster than the ongoing cadence would suggest. After that, how often each platform is re-checked depends on your plan.
